The local area has a rich cycling history, with famous races like the Women’s cycle tour. utilizing the picturesque landscapes surrounding us. You can even challenge yourself on Cromford Hill, known as the King of the Mountain, which was a part of the Aviva Tour of Britain. If you prefer a gentler ride, Carsington Water offers a delightful cycling circuit that is also conveniently located nearby. Don’t worry if you don’t have your own bike. Cycle Hire and E-Bikes are readily available locally, ensuring that everyone in your group can join in on the cycling fun and enjoy a fantastic day out on two wheels.

After a day of pedalling through breathtaking scenery, Agricola House provides a comfortable and welcoming retreat. For peace of mind, there is cycle storage for up to 10 bikes plus an accessible outside tap in the private courtyard at the back of Agricola House within the parking areas.

Spread out and relax

After your cycle ride, Agricola has ample space to relax. The group can enjoy a movie in our cinema lounge, do some yoga stretches in the open-plan living areas or try unwinding in the wellness sauna. During your stay, why not book Love Pamper who will visit Agricola for an indulgent treat, perhaps tailored to massage those tight muscles? The house has great Wi-Fi and mobile signal with ample parking for up to 10 cars.

Explore the area on foot

On your return from cycling, the house is located in the conservation area of the historic small town of Wirksworth which has wine bars, an independent cinema and boutique shops to explore. There are real ale and wine bars only 5 minute’s walk away.

We have lived in the area for around 16 years and cycle ourselves so have plenty of local knowledge; please do not hesitate to contact us.
